"God made cutting hard"

Cole: "Mom, cutting is hard."

Me: "Yes, it can be."

Cole: "Why?"

Me: "I'm not sure. Sometimes it just is hard to cut."

Cole: "Did God make it hard?"

Me: Baffled. "No, God didn't make cutting with scissors hard."

Cole: "Yes. Yes he did. God made everything."

Me: "Yes. I suppose you're right. God did make everything."

Pause. "How did you know that?"

Cole: "My teachers told me."
