It is my duty to inform you that our nervous system becomes overwrought when you allow yourself to feel hurt by every small thing that happens.
Stop it. Now.

Your brain

Take this quiz for fun!
It has been a long-running joke between Will and I that I have ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). So I goggled it today finally and found a quiz. My results were as thebutton above states. To be exact:
"It is highly likely that you are presently suffering from adult attention deficit disorder, according to your responses on this self-report questionnaire. You should not take this as a diagnosis of any sort, or a recommendation for treatment. However, it would be advisable and likely beneficial for you to seek further diagnosis from a trained mental health professional immediately."
Imagine how boring I would be if I was able to focus. Then you'd know what I was likely to say or do and we just can't have that now can we?
I am curious what it says others have. Take the quiz and comment on this post with your results.

"I am not your friend"
My 16 year old niece spent the night this past Saturday. That sweet little girl is not so little anymore, or sweet. She's a big girl now,...that sneaks out!
That is right! She wasn't gone more than 30 minutes before I realized and had to go get her. My friend kindly informed me that we are the adults kids sneak out from. What? I thought I had at least 10 more years before I was that person!
Well, Saturday was the day I had to tell a child I loved that "I am not your friend"....I am your aunt, I am an adult. That sounds horrible right? But it was the truth. I wasn't trying to win her love, I needed to win her respect. So after much much much thought, I told her parents.

"mommy always comes back"
I picked up Cole from school and then we went to pick up Lala (Cole's cousin). Lala asked him if he liked school and Cole replied "Yes, mommy always comes back". I smiled all the way home, comforted by the fact that #1 Cole was happy going to school now and #2, that Cole was so secure in knowing that I would always be there.

saying no to mommy
Cole is most definitely in his defiant stage but with some discipline we have managed to keep it under control, er manageable.
Me: "Cole, stop hitting Bailey!"
Cole: "No!"
Me: "Excuse me?"
Cole: "I don't wanna say no to Mommy."
Me: "Then stop hitting Bailey."
Cole: "ok ok ok"

Cole: "ok ok ok"
